After all this time? Always.
The movie version wasn't quite as climactic or meaningful as I'd imagined it in the text, but I still love Snape as a result.
In the text:
“Dumbledore opened his eyes. Snape looked horrified.
‘You’ve kept him alive so that he can die at the right moment?’
‘Don’t be shocked, Severus. How many men and women have you watched die?’
‘Lately, only those whom I could not save,’ said Snape. ‘You have used me.’
‘Meaning?’
"I have spied for you and lied for you, put myself in mortal danger for you. Everything was supposed to be to keep Lily Potter's son safe. Now you tell me you have been raising him like a pig for slaughter -- "
"But this is touching, Severus," said Dumbledore seriously. "Have you grown...

That distraught look on Alan Rickman's face when he sees Lily's dead body, it lives rent free in my mind. One of the more gut-wrenching expressions I've ever seen on his face.
I must say this’s JK.Rowling at her best writing before Disney’s grasp
Snape. So when the time comes the boy must die? Dumbledore. Yes yes he must die Snape. Youve kept him alive so he could die at the proper moment youve been raising him like a pig for slaughter! Dumbledore. Dont tell me now youve growned care for the boy? Snape. Expecto patronoum Dumbledore. Lily? After all this time Snape. Always
My heart🥺😭😭😭
He loved her all hes live
1:10 He knew he betrayed her on accident, and has lived with the guilt all his life: his one true love.
A.A.T.T- ALWAYS! 1:14
Mr Karahanlı Appreciates Your Loyalty 🫡🫡
that always is so Hauntedly sorrowful and beautiful at the same time......RIP Alan RIckman and Severus Snape
Snape deserved someone way better than Lilly. I know that he insulted her in an angry moment, but if that affected her so much why would she marry a bully and coward like James Potter? Let me answer: Snape was the weirdo, James was the cool kid. That's why she chose James over Snape. Snape was too good for a too evil world.
This scene reminds me the dialogue from the last scene in the movie "indecent proposal". Both great movies!
and at the end we realised, Harry Potter was one of the greatest story of selfless love. "Always"
always
womp womp nothing's ever gonna make me like snivellus idc
i feel as if “always” was a response to both “don’t tell me now that you’ve grown to care for the boy” and “lily? after all this time?” 🥲😭
Está muy triste 😢
Everytime I see this only 1 name comes to mind in place of Lilly, after that loss I have never been the same.
Always you xxx
Ana? After allí this time? Always...
“After all this time, you haven’t moved on?” “No” “You still love her? Even if she’s happy with someone else?” “Always”
I am crying(
What part is it please?
Gandalf?
the true hero
Literally people try and tell me he was heartless, a stalker, weird and horrible to Harry but the line "don't tell me now you've come to care for the boy" and his response is his patronus, which has been the same since the very beginning telling me he literally loved lily, lost her, never loved again, derived his happiest moment from how he felt with her, and hid it tremendously well. He was legit horrible to all the students and just like when you like someone you try to hide it through treating them worse than others, he did this with Harry alot. He didn't "just come to care" for Harry, he always did. Exactly why his response to dumbledores plan was like slaughtering an animal was met with rage and disbelief.
2024
I was too young to young it at first. Now I do 😢
I never read the books so after watching and waiting years and years to get to this scene. This was mind blowing to say the least.
If I don't deserve her I will protect her.
Harry Potter is Snape’s story, told from Harry’s point of view.
I have watched a lot of romantic movies but Snape's love story is by far the most romantic love story that never even got completed :)
Lily after all this time :)
Best part
So when the times comes..The boy must die?😢
Wat does the expecto petroma says,is it the fact that he saved harry from the dementors ?sorry for my bad english all the love from romania
Dunno if the movie portrayed this the same way the book did. The movie doesn’t make me emotional, but in the book this is a pivotal moment when you realize Snape was loyal to Lily. No one else but her.
You can "guess" it by looking closely at the added scene where he hugs Lily's dead body over comforting his son crying in the background. But yeah the book clearly states that he only cared about her, which makes what he's done ever more remarkable imho. Compared to Dumbledore who had been plotting on Harry's death since he found out he was an horcrux and set the kid on the path to commit "suicide" for the greater good.

0:54 the saddest and most heartbreaking “Expecto Patronum” ever said. 🥺🥺

Even after all this time ? Always !
2024.. still manage to make give me teary eyes 😭

It's such a creepy scene where Severus Snape just hugs Lilly Potter's dead body…

I now understand Snape's love for Lily ! It was more than James Potter's love for Lily ! Because it was always !!!
No, I'm not crying 😥
Why is this a song?
I love Snape he’s so complex..J.K Rowling truly is a mastermind
